few months ago, the bazaar known as sabatino Comics Rock Show woke some discomfort among visitors as it began to charge admission to the place. Obviously, no one was amused to pay to get to a place that once offered their services for free. Negative comments and unfounded criticism did not wait.
Today we knew that soon the Comics Rock Show will raise the price of your ticket, which had remained in symbolic five pesos, ten pesos per visit. That is why we wrote to Lilia Contreras , an authority in this bazaar, to explain our concerns about this type of collection. Shortly thereafter, we received a call from Samuel Shapiro , head of the project, who kindly took the time to talk with us.
Shapiro , founder of the rock band Glass & Steel , told us that contrary to popular belief, the Cultural Center Miguel Sabido (which houses the Comics Rock Show and other recreational activities) is a space private , ie not belongs to the government or receive any support from the Secretariat of Culture of the Federal District or another instance.
Founded by writer Miguel Sabido and sisters, this cultural center has been directed by Samuel Shapiro , nephew of Sabido, from about twelve years .
According Shapiro told us, the Comics Rock Show born during the administration of Andrés Manuel López Obrador as a project that aimed mainly employment generation and creating a meeting point for fans to collecting comics, toys, movies and the like.
Why charge admission?
